Follow the path of the ancient Greek thinkers on a ‘Philosophy Walk’
The ancient Greek philosophers were among the first to embrace the concept of a ‘healthy mind in a healthy body’, often examining philosophical and scientific matters during a leisurely walk with their students. Now you have the chance to follow in their footsteps. The ‘Philosophy Walks’ at Messinia are an innovative activity that offer a unique opportunity to discuss important modern-day issues through the prism of ancient Greek philosophical thinking and writings.
Led by classical scholars, these walks against the idyllic backdrop of the Messinian countryside aim to provide answers to contemporary problems by drawing on the wisdom of the past… answers that are just as applicable today as they were in antiquity.
Each walk lasts about 90 minutes and takes place over two consecutive days. Prices are available upon request for scheduled as well as private tours. Please note that cancellation charges will apply in case of cancelled participation and no-shows.
Journey back to where the Olympic Games began

Explore the temples of Zeus and Hera, the ancient stadium and the workshop of the great Classical sculptor Phidias. See the world-famous bronze and sculpture collections at one of the most renowned museums in Greece.
The activity includes a full-day excursion to Olympia with return transportation to the site, admission to Ancient Olympia, professional guide at Ancient Olympia, lunch at a traditional restaurant near Olympia,2 sessions with a philosophy professor , each of 90 minutes duration.
Prices are available upon request for scheduled as well as private tours. Please note that cancellation charges will apply in case of cancelled participation and no-shows. The Philosophy walks or Olympia visit can also be purchased separately.
